During the course of her architecture studies at ETSAB (UPC) in her native Barcelona, Marina also took part in an Erasmus exchange in the Netherlands. She then worked for a year in Rotterdam before returning to Barcelona where she worked for six years. In the first practice, she was mainly responsible for site supervision, whereas in the second firm, she worked on public buildings and on the restoration of listed buildings. With valuable experience under her belt, she moved to Belgium and worked at DDS+ for two years. She then branched out independently with Maruxa, another DDS+ architect. Together, they studied the quality of school infrastructure in Brussels, publishing two works, one of which serves as a European-level reference for good practices in the field. She came back to DDS+ in 2018 to mainly oversee permits and tenders. With her ability to manage large groups, she regularly works within important teams.
