Project details

Located at the junction of Ixelles, Etterbeek and Auderghem, Universalis Park II is part of the ongoing redevelopment of the La Plaine site. The project reconnects this fragmented territory to its wider urban context through four distinct plots and a diverse program: social (SLRB-BGHM) and student housing, community facilities, local retail and shared public spaces.

At the heart of the project, a landscaped oasis of more than 1.000 m² in open ground creates a green breathing space. Buildings of varying heights are arranged around this central planted square, encouraging social interaction and visual permeability throughout the site. The surrounding public realm prioritises active mobility, with pedestrian and cycling paths, as well as covered and secure bicycle parking.

The architecture features façades articulated with setbacks, cuts and loggias, giving the project a dynamic, human-scale identity. The north façade of Lot C, punctuated by generous balconies across 13 floors, stands as a strong urban marker along Boulevard du Triomphe.

With optimised rainwater management, green roofs, collective heating systems and photovoltaic panels powering the shared spaces, the project aims to deliver a high-quality, resilient living environment in dialogue with its urban context.
